Road Trip

John decided one week we should take a road trip to a wetlands park called Blue Lagoon to see some wildlife. Well, the trip was wild, for sure. The way John recalls the road is that it was like a "superhighway". Hmmmm. . .a few months of the rainy season and we were dodging potholes that threatened to swallow our vehicle and going through puddles that splashed water over the top of the cruiser. We finally got to the park and drove out to the overlook building. We were so excited to see some bush buck or kudu but this was the view looking out the front of the car. . .

Well, it looked like no one had cut the grass on the path for a while. The lady at the check-in place DID say we were the first visitors in 2007. We figured it would get better once we got to the lookout station where we could climb up and see out over the wetlands. Here's the picture of the tower:

Oops, it looks like someone has been taking the floor planks from the lookout tower and using them for firewood. Oh well. At least the two Julias had a good time. What will YOU say when John says to you "Want to take a road trip?"
